Misc Galvanizing Galvanizing A Galvanized Trailer is built with high strength steel that is hot dipped in a bath of molten zinc. This galvanizing process creates a product that is highly resistant to corrosion and virtually maintenance free. Galvanizing is a popular protective coating for steel trailers that is beneficial in providing long life, durability and performance. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal by forming a barrier. This is a thick, tough metallic zinc envelope, which covers the steel outer and inner surface and seals it from the corrosive action of its environment. It is not uncommon for galvanized steel to last for more than 70 years under certain conditions.
